Implementation of Collaborative Supervision In Teacher Professional Empowerment At MAN 3 Banda Aceh: A Management Information System Perspective

Zulkarnaini Zulkarnaini, Yusra Jamali

Abstract

The efficacy of Islamic secondary schools (Madrasah Aliyah) hinges on the professional agency and continuous pedagogical refinement of their teaching staff. This qualitative case study explores how integrating a Management Information System (MIS) into collaborative supervision frameworks fosters teacher professional empowerment at MAN 3 Banda Aceh. Fieldwork involved semi-structured interviews, non-participant observations, and document analysis with the principal, academic vice-principal, instructional supervisors, and a stratified sample of teachers. Thematic analysis, validated through source and methodological triangulation, revealed that digitizing the supervisory process shifts the paradigm from hierarchical compliance to egalitarian, evidence-based professional dialogue. Utilizing MIS dashboards for pre-observation goal alignment and post-observation reflective analytics, teachers reported significant gains in instructional autonomy, self-efficacy, and digital fluency. The findings offer a scalable, technology-mediated model for educational administrators aiming to modernize human resource development in religious educational contexts.
